Sitka Works is dedicated to promoting sustainable economic development in Sitka by significantly building the capacity for the creation and planning of small businesses.Our aim is to capture the intelligence, imagination, and passion of Sitka's people to grow and diversify the local economy through the development of small businesses.

A USDA Rural Development/Rural Business Opportunity Grant, and a match from the City and Borough of Sitka, supported the Business Planning and Development Project (BP&D) from October 2002 through August 2004. Through this project we were able to expand the level of assistance we were able to offer through the original Sitka Business Incubator funding.

• Education on "avoiding pitfalls"
• Networking and business to business collaboration
• Access to Circle Lending -- a specialty loan administration company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts which provides a full range of services for managing financial transactions between private parties.
